The Passing Year: Remembrances, Recollections, Ruminations

14.99

During the year 2024, writer John Quinn kept a personal journal of ‘remembrances, recollections and ruminations’. The result is his latest book, The Passing Year.

This is a very personal record of his observations on world events – Gaza, the return of President Trump, wars, famines and climate change – leavened with reflections on the deaths of mentors such as Charles Handy and Michael Coady, together with readings from books and poems he encountered during the year.

Little acts of kindness are recalled with fondness. The entire is a warmly reflective record of a year in the life of an octogenarian for whom the years glide by all too quickly.

John Quinn is a former teacher and radio broadcaster who became a successful writer over the past twenty-five years. He has written award-winning children's books (The Summer of Lily and Esme), memoirs (Goodnight Ballivor, I'll sleep in Trim; Letters to Olive), books based on his radio work (The Curious Mind, Homage, Walking on the Pastures of Wonder, This Place Speaks To Me) and reflective collections (Moments, Gratias, Stolen Moments).
