Eddie Golden's life can be divided into three parts:
His birth in Cork and tragedy-filled sojourn in Australia
His childhood and adventurous adulthood in Cork, including acting in Father O'Flynn's company known as The Loft; gaining a BA and managing the Little Theatre in Cork
Becoming a full time actor in films and on the stage, mainly as a member of the Abbey Theatre Company.

The author is the second son of the actor, director, teacher and writer, Eddie Golden. A retired general practitioner, he has spent his retirement researching and writing this book, for which he has drawn on his own memories and imagination.
