Events

We love hosting author events in Bridge Street Books & have been delighted in the past to welcome such celebrities as Derek Landy (Skulduggery Pleasant), Rebecca Miller and Donal Ryan (The Spinning Heart). We have also welcomed The Gruffalo and Maisy Mouse, held a cookery demonstration by Catherine Fulvio & had the children of Wicklow hunt for Wally all over the town.

It is always a pleasure to welcome local authors Emma Hannigan, Melissa Hill & Jackie Burke & more recently Alan Timmons (Here in No Place), Oona Frawley (Flight) and Micheal Delahunty (This is Wicklow) to BSB to launch their books.

Please see below a list of upcoming and exciting events which we will be hosting:

'My Sister the Serial Killer' by Oyinkan Braithwaite
When Korede's dinner is interrupted one night by a distress call from her sister, Ayoola, she knows what's expected of her: bleach, rubber gloves, nerves of steel and a strong stomach. This'll be the third boyfriend Ayoola's dispatched in, quote, self-defence and the third mess that her lethal little sibling has left Korede to clear away. She should probably go to the police for the good of the menfolk of Nigeria, but she loves her sister and, as they say, family always comes first. Until, that is, Ayoola starts dating the doctor where Korede works as a nurse.

Junior book club - Thursday 28th November
3.30 pm
in Bridge Street Books Wicklow

'The Girl Who Speaks Bear' by Sophie Anderson
ound abandoned in a bear cave as a baby, Yanka has always wondered about where she is from. She tries to ignore the strange whispers and looks from the villagers, wishing she was as strong on the inside as she is on the outside. But, when she has to flee her house, looking for answers about who she really is, a journey far beyond one that she ever imagined begins: from icy rivers to smouldering mountains meeting an ever-growing herd of extraordinary friends along the way.
