Fun Easter Reads for Children

Is there anything nicer than sharing a book with a child?  Many children this year will miss their Grannys, Grandads, Aunts and Uncles at Easter, so let them know you are thinking of them - send them a book.  You might not be able to read it to them in person, but Mums, Dads, older siblings can or better yet, call them and read it to them via video call.

Don't miss out, share a book this Easter - we can post to you.

We have put together our favourite picture books all about Easter bunnies, chicks and, of course, chocolate!  For recommedations for older children, please see our recommendations page

To save you time and extra hassle, we have included a 'buy now' option, which will link you directly to our webshop

Many thanks for your continued support and stay safe

In a neighbouring village, seventeen-year-old Wang Di is bundled into the back of a troop carrier and shipped off to a Japanese military rape camp. In the year 2000, her mind is still haunted by her experiences there, but she has long been silent about her memories of that time. It takes twelve-year-old Kevin, and the mumbled confession he overhears from his ailing grandmother, to set in motion a journey into the unknown to discover the truth.
Weaving together two timelines and two life-changing secrets, How We Disappeared is an evocative, profoundly moving and utterly dazzling novel heralding the arrival of a new literary star.

motherwellMotherwell: A Girlhood - Deborah Orr

eur19.99

And strangely, she wanted the same for her daughter. Attending university wasn't for the likes of the Orr family. Worse still, it would mean leaving Win behind - and Win wanted Deborah with her at all times, rather like she wanted her arm with her at all times.

animalscompanionThe Animal's Companion: People and their pets, a 26,000 year love story - Jacky Caliss Harvey

eur11.80

A unique and compelling exploration of why humans need animal companions - from dogs and cats to horses, birds and reptiles - as seen through the eyes of author Jacky Colliss Harvey. In 'The Animal's Companion', the acclaimed author explores the human desire to share our everyday life with pets, a history that can be traced back to a cave in France where evidence has been unearthed of a boy and his dog taking a walk together, some 26,000 years ago. From those preserved foot and paw prints, Colliss Harvey draws on literary, artistic and archaeological artefacts to sweep readers through centuries and across continents to examine how our relationships with our pets have developed, but also stayed very much the same.
Through delightful stories of the most famous, endearing and sometimes eccentric pet owners throughout history, she suggests fascinating new insights into one of the most long-standing of all human love affairs.
